Hamada Shuzo, founded in 1868 in Ichikikushikino and known for the imo (sweet-potato) shochus Kaido and Daimao, makes Kuchimaro Umeshu at 14% ABV and a long-aged umeshu sold only at its Kinzangura, a cellar set in a former gold mine.
