Tatenokawa Shuzo
Kodakara — Japan's first local-yogurt liqueur, and its best-selling one.
Tatenokawa, founded in 1832 in Sakata, created Japan's first local-yogurt liqueur — Kodakara Chokai Sanroku Yogurt — and leads the category in sales. Raw-milk yogurt from dairies at the foot of Mt. Chokai makes up over 60% of the bottle, on a sake base at 8% ABV; an unpasteurised nama-toro version is kept refrigerated.
