Oyama Yumekobo in Hita, Oita, is a dedicated umeshu maker whose plant was built together with Nikka Whisky. It uses only plums grown by farmers of the local Oyama district and has taken gold at the National Umeshu Awards two years running; in 2024 its The FIRST and an Earl Grey tea-blend umeshu both took silver.
