Ota Shuzo

Hanzo's umeshu — Minabe plums hand-steeped in the G7 summit toast sake's genshu.

The Story of Ota Shuzo

Ota Shuzo, founded in 1892 in Iga, brews Hanzo, the sake served for the toast at the Ise-Shima Summit. Since 2007 it has steeped Nanko plums from Minabe by hand in undiluted sake brewed from Mie rice and Suzuka Mountains subsoil water — aged three years for its umeshu.
