Chiyonosono, founded in 1896 in Yamaga, Kumamoto, makes sake, red sake, shochu and liqueurs. Its trio of fruit liqueurs — amanatsu citrus, cherry and Ume Akazake — is popular, the last steeped in akazake, the red sake with 400 years of history in Kumamoto.
