Meiri Shurui
Hyakunen Umeshu — the brandy-steeped umeshu once crowned best in Japan, from Mito's plum country.
Meiri Shurui, founded in 1950 near Mito's famous Kairakuen plum garden, steeps domestic plums in brandy — an unusual base that carried its Baiko Hyakunen Umeshu to first place in Japan at the National Umeshu Awards. A long-aged premium version follows at 17% ABV.
