Kamotsuru Sake Brewing
Saijo's great name, whose junmai umeshu entered the National Umeshu Awards hall of fame.
Kamotsuru, the celebrated Saijo brewery founded in 1873, makes its umeshu from just three things: junmai sake, fully ripened Kishu Nanko plums and rock sugar. It won gold and first place three years running at the National Umeshu Awards — earning hall-of-fame status — and a version steeped in junmai ginjo sake aged over ten years extends the line.
